Georgia has a wealth of public data on the economy, public finances, regions, trade, business and other important areas. Yet this information is scattered across government websites, Excel files, reports and complex tables. Even a simple answer can require finding several sources, downloading and processing the data, and comparing the results.
Finding the information is only part of the problem. Data is often presented in a form that is difficult to understand without specialist knowledge. Comparing different years, regions or economic indicators and seeing the wider picture can also be difficult. As a result, much of this publicly available data is easy to use in practice for only a small group of people.
Fiscal.ge was created to address this problem. Our aim is to bring a substantial part of Georgia’s publicly available economic and financial data into one place, organise it, connect it and present it in a clear visual form.
We want people to find the data they need, compare it and understand its context in seconds, instead of spending hours searching. Our aim is for Georgia’s data to be more than public: it should be accessible, understandable and useful.
